William Bond Jonas was born in Sea Cliff, N.Y. in 1948 and has lived on Centre Island in Oyster Bay, N.Y. since 1951, residing there now with his wife. They have two children.

He has studied at the Art Students League in New York under Robert Brackman and Robert Beverly Hale, in the atelier of Harold Ransom Stevenson in Sea Cliff, N.Y., and under Nelson Shanks internationally famous portrait painter in Andalusia, Pennsylvania.

Jonas specializes in landscapes, marine paintings, and portraits. His Paintings can be found in numerous private collections around the Northeastern United States and Bermuda and he is the painter of the internationally famous poster-print entitled “Oyster Bay.”
